Good Morning Dreamerz!!

This morning I bring you the cutest card.  The digital stamp is from a new company, but I bet all my paper piecing friends are very familiar with the designs.  The company is called Digi Box Designs and they are the sister company to Treasure Box Designs.

This Digital stamp is called Spring Girl

Digital Stamp uploaded into Cricut Design Space to use the print and cut function with my Explore Air
Sentiment if from Cricut Design Space
I used Fancy Frames Dies to create a pretty mat that image is on
Spring Girl was done in water colors using Faber Castell Albrecht Durer

Be sure to stop on over at Digi Box Designs as right now they are having a sale as a Get to know us kind of promotion 50% off all digital images.

A life filled with dreams...

Good Afternoon Dreamers!!

As promised here is another card for you to enjoy.  Those that know me personally know I love the following things in no particular order (yet sometimes one more than the other) Unicorns, Frogs, Dragons, and Rubber Duckies.  I bought this Frog Ballerina stamp from Stampendous and I have used it quite a bit.  I think it is very whimsical and very versatile.

So I stamped her on bright white cardstock and colored in just her tutu, ballet shoes and then fussy cut her out. Stamped the sentiment and fussy cut it out and adhered it on my die cut layer, then mounted the whole project on pretty patterned grey cardstock. Base of card is on the same color grey as the fussy cut sentiment. Finished card off with a tiny Silver tulle bow to help tie in the theme of the card.

Supplies used:
Fancy Frames Die used on black woodgrain paper from American Crafts
Ballerina Frog from Stampendous
Red Stickles on tutu
Iridescent Stickles on tips of tiara
Silver tulle for bow
Colored part of stamp done with Staedtler Tri-Plus Fineliner
foam pop dots to elevate Ballerina

I'm Late! I'm Late! I'm Late! or wait maybe I am early??

Good Morning Dreamerz!!!

Today I will be putting up a few blog posts.  First card is for a male friend of mine. Chris and I have been friends over 20 years yet I do not know how old he is (over 20 right?) He is one of those guys that when he was younger was a bit vain about his appearance.  Now that he is older he really does not like the fact that he is aging.. He has always refused to tell me how old he is or even to give me a birth month/day.  So every year I send him a card on April Fools day and on the inside it always says the same thing "Either I am late or I am early, but at least I did not forget your Birthday" He looks forward to these cards every year he tell's me.  This year I am sharing his card with you all first..

Annabelle Melancholy Moppet ~ Spring

Good Morning Dreamers, this morning I am sharing a pretty digi.

So I bring you Annabelle Melancholy Moppet but with a Spring twist. You see usually melancholy conjures up darker, sadder images of forlorn longings of things past to me. So I colored her in the colors of Spring with bright pops of color in pinks and purples, even the lil bird is blue as in the Bluebird of Happiness.  I used my MS Word program to insert her onto a new project then found a free vector of a bench in a park like setting as her backdrop.

After she was completely watercolored I created a frame using Spellbinders long border dies. The flourishes are also die cut from Spellbinders in parchment paper and a soft green printed paper that pulls the color from the bushes. I added a couple of pretty flowers over the top of the flourishes to add more pop of color.

Leave a little Sparkle...

Good Morning Dreamerz!!

Today is a new day and yet it still all seems so very real.  It has been 2 weeks since my mom has passed and I have been hiding in my craft room as much as possible. Glitter, Glue, Family, Good Friends, and all things color seem to be helping me each day.  Many have said my mom had the most infectious laugh, that when they heard it even in a crowded room they just knew she was there without ever actually seeing her.  She was loved by so many, it's as if she left a "Lil Sparkle" of herself on everyone's heart.

Today's card is filled with that spirit.  The digital stamp is from Faery Ink and you can get her right here Arielle flora fae

Card Recipe:

Arielle Digital Stamp colored in Prismacolor Premier Pencils
Circle Easel Card base from My Scrap Chick Easel Card Collection
Scallop layer and 2 pink circle layers are die cuts using Stitched in Circle dies
Sentiment and embossed swirls are from Magical Wishes
Ranger holographic embossing powder for swirls
I used clear Wink of Stella over most of image the added Ranger Glossy Accents on the 3 flowers to add dimension and really make the flowers pop.
Digital Stamp was uploaded to Cricut Design Space then attached to a circle for print and cut.

Thank you to Amanda Byron of Faery Ink for creating such a perfect lil fae.

Have a great day Dreamers...

Loss and how to cope...

Good Afternoon Dreamerz.

Yes it has been about a minute since I have blogged, but lots has happened since my last blog post. My mom passed away March 9th after suffering from a long illness.  While we all knew this day would come it still did not and does not make the loss any easier to take.  I am so very very thankful for the family and friends who have prayed for my family the last week, sent cards, letters, called, texted, dropped by and who have dragged me out of the house to let me know they care. I had gone to pre-grief counseling last year and my therapist had suggested then that I start a journal so that I could write down my thoughts, feelings, and just about anything I wanted.  Well I didn't at that time.  There is a really sweet artist name Julia Spiri and she does some really sweet digital images.  I had bought the one I am going to show you because I really liked it and it made me think of treasured memories. So here I was sitting here all alone at my home after I had come home from my parents house last week and it was all I could do to just breathe.  So I took to my craft room to just color to help my mind escape and relax me.  I settled upon this Julia Spiri image with no real end project in mind, and the more I worked on it the more it came to life.  I knew what this colored image was going to become.  It is now the front of my journal. I have ordered the journal from amazon and it is coming soon, but until then I wanted to share it with you all.
So here she is,
"The Fantasy Hat"

She was completely colored in Prismacolor Premier pencils.
I created the cover itself by embossing heavy duty foil with a steampunk gear embossing folder. once embossed I used double sided tape on a piece of sturdy cardboard and laid the embossed foil over to adhere it.  I then used alcohol markers to color the foil.  Once I was happy with the colors I used versamark applied over the whole top and then applied 4 coats of Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel aka UTEE to give it a nice smooth front and help protect the colored and foiled cover. I inked the edges of my finished coloring and adhered it to the top of the cover and will use UTEE to completely seal the colored image to the top of the journal cover.

If you like this image you can find it here Fantasy Hat again a huge thank you to Julia Spiri for creating this image that I will now be able to put my treasured memories under.

BTW Julia Spiri has a FB Group please join to see all the amazing images she produces.

Gator Boo ~ Lacy Sunshine "Team A Wild Challenge"

Good Morning Dreamers,  Today marks the beginning of the Lacy Sunshine Team A Wild Challenge.  All details on how you can enter this anything goes challenge are at the bottom of my post.  Now onto the fun stuff!!

This morning for my challenge project I was given Gator Boo to color.  He was so fun to color but then I was stuck on how to present him, so after looking at him for a few days it hit me Spring and Wild!! So I went out into my yard and clipped a few new sprigs off my beloved Sterling Rose bush, a few dandelions (yes I know they are weeds but they sure grow WILD in Spring), and another lil blooming weed. Note to self, Get husband to spray for weeds! I then pulled a really pretty paper from my stash with elements of nature on it along with a cute saying and cut it apart to create the card.  Everything seemed to just come together on it's own once I had settled on the paper, isn't that how it always goes??

So here you go readers my Gator Boo!!

Card Recipe:
Gator Boo digital image from Lacy Sunshine
Boo layer die cut with CDD Fancy Frame Dies
All other layers including the fussy cut banner for the sentiment were cut with
Hello Spring sentiment from Jaded Blossom ~ Springtime Greetings stamped then heat embossed using Ranger Holographic embossing powder

I do hope to see you enter your "Anything Goes Project" at the Lacy Sunshine Blog.  Just click this link right here to enter ~Click here to enter~
