SumMoreFun ~ Challenge #31

Good Morning Dreamerz,

Today is the start of Challenge #31 on the SumMoreFun Designs BlogThe Theme/Mood Board for this challenge is so pretty.  Here's my inspiration for you using: Cherry Blossom

Not going to lie this one I struggled with.  I just could not get anything from brain to paper how I wanted and admit to round filing (trashing) numerous attempts before I finally was happy with the card you see today. Today's project is using the color part of the mood board.

Card Recipe:
I stamped the Cherry Blossom stamps across the bottom diagonally using versamark and applied white embossing powder and heat set the images.  Next came the ink blending using Distress Inks in Walnut Stain, Peeled Paint, and Tumbled Glass as those are 3 of the colors from the mood board. I die cut the layer using DieNamics Mod Rectangle Stax and then using a smaller die from the same set I die cut through the blended layer and the card base layer which is a side folding piece of Neenah Desert Storm 100lb cardstock.  Now that I have a window I used 2 pieces of tulle to form the shaker and filled with some burgundy and silver sequins. A liberal layer of Tombow glue applied to the blended layer was used to apply to the front of the card.
How the colors fit the mood board, 3 ink blended colors, card base of lighter brown, and burgundy shade sequins

SumMoreFun ~ Masculine Birthday

Good Morning Dreamerz and Happy Wednesday!!

Today is my day to take over the SumMoreFun Designs Blog.

Here's my inspiration for you using the following stamps:

Motorcycle No Limits and Map

I am always trying to add to my card stash "Masculine" themed cards that I can pull and pretty much use for Birthdays.  Today's card hit the mark perfectly!

Card Recipe:
I stamped the Map on a piece of pattern paper from my stash using white pigment ink and then applied some clear embossing powder on top to heat set, the heat must have brought out the purples in the patterned paper as the color shifted from white to the color you see.  Next I used Memento Dew Drops in Tuxedo Black to stamp the Motorcycle I then applied versamark and clear embossing powder to really achieve a deeper black and some dimension. Once I was happy with my motorcycle I used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut around the Motorcycle. Lastly I stamped the pull tab using a sentiment from No Limits

With all the stamping and layers ready to go next up was assembly of the card. I used a slider channel die on the Map layer, created a slider tab for the Motorcycle to slide on, then created a pull tab to reveal the stamped message. After applying some foam tape to the backside of the map layer I affixed it to a piece of Desert Storm cardstock. to an A2 sized side folding piece of Neenah Desert Storm 100lb cardstock. Final assembly was attaching a piece of green paper to a side folding A2 sized card base of Neenah white cardstock, then attaching the Motorcycle and Map layer using Tombow glue

SumMoreFun ~ Ahoy!

Good Morning Dreamerz and Happy Wednesday!!

Today is my day to take over the SumMoreFun Designs Blog.

Here's my inspiration for you using the following stamps:

Ship at Sea Ahoy Lined Background

I am always trying to add to my card stash "Masculine" themed cards that I can pull and pretty much use for any occasion.  Today's card can be used for the following types of occasions.  Retirement, Birthday, Fathers day, Get Well, just to name a few.

Card Recipe:
I stamped the Lined Background using an acrylic block in a random pattern on a piece of Neenah 110lb cardstock using Versamark and then embossed with clear embossing powder.  Next I used Memento Dew Drops in Nautical Blue with a blending pad to give an ombre effect. Once I was happy with the blending I die cut with a stitched rectangle die and set it aside.  Then I stamped the Ship at Sea using my Tim Holtz stamp platform onto some Varsity Blue cardstock using a white pigment ink pad and applied clear embossing powder.  I then die cut the ship with a smaller stitched rectangle die and set it aside.  The last thing to stamp was the Ahoy which i stamped onto a piece of velum using the Nautical Blue ink pad (NOTE: my inkpad is super juicy and I used my heat gun held at a distance to speed up drying) I then tore the edges of the velum to add some interest to the layer.

With all the stamping and layers ready to go next up was assembly of the card. I affixed the blended background layer to an A2 sized side folding piece of Neenah Desert Storm 100lb cardstock. Next was attaching the piece of burlap which I removed threads from all sides to give the current appearance.  I then affixed the ship layer using a good layer of Tombow glue and placed a couple of acrylic blocks on top to really set the layer on top of the burlap. The Ahoy sentiment was attached using Tombow again behind the stamped letters and also where I knew I was going to be attaching the pearlescent embellishments.

SumMoreFun ~ Bunny With Egg

Good Morning Dreamerz and Happy Wednesday!!

Today is my day to take over the SumMoreFun Designs Blog.

Here's my inspiration for you using:

Bunny with Egg Mini Animals and Flowers & Backgrounds Set

Today I am sharing a cute Easter card that was super easy to make once I cut the mask for the bunny.  I am not much for fussy cutting but am finding I am doing quite a bit of masking on my cards lately.

Card Recipe:
I stamped the Bunny with Egg using my Tim Holtz stamp platform on a piece of Copic friendly cardstock and again on a piece of masking paper.  I then cut out the mask and applied it just to the lower half of the bunny.  Taking the one stamp from the Backgrounds set that looks like a small patch of grass I positioned it in my platform and stamped across the bottom of the card.  I did this a few times moving the panel and using different colors of green inks to achieve the look of grass.  I colored the bunny using various Copic markers until I was happy with how he looked.  Taking the Tulip stamp from Mini Animals and Flowers set I placed it on stamping platform and first inked the stem and leaves with a green ink and stamped the Egg and then inked it with a bright pink on the flower and finished off the Tulip.  The Happy Easter sentiment is from my stash and I used the same ink on it as I did the Tulip in the egg.  I chose to die cut the panel with a dainty scalloped edged die and used a larger die from the same set to die cut a layer of soft plaid paper from my stash.
I then affixed all the layers to a piece of yellow cardstock. Once all layers were dry I attached the project to a top folding A2 sized card base made with Neenah 110lb cardstock.  To finish off my project I added some homemade enamel dots that I affixed with pink stickles.  I chose the pink stickles so that just a hint of sparkle is visible on the card.
