Let it Snow! ~ Postcard for Lisa

Good Morning Dreamerz and Happy Wednesday!!

Today is my day to take over the SumMoreFun Designs Blog.

Here's my inspiration for you using:

Blank Postcard to make real postcards
and
Let it Snow

Today I want to share a fast and easy Postcard with you.  I just could not get the thoughts of Winter and my wish for Snow out of my head.  Our Design Team Leader Lisa (check out her amazing projects) just recently got her first snowfall of the season and she was just giddy over the fact she had snow, I admit to being quite jealous as we are patiently waiting for our snow in the part of California where I live. So I created this card for her and will pop it in the mail. NOTE: This Blank Postcard stamp is amazing and I plan to use it quite often, the clarity of how it stamps is perfect and it can be used on a smaller sized postcard as well.

Card Recipe:
Sadly I had taken quite a few pictures of my process but my desktop computer died and we had to purchase another. So please bear with me as I do my best to explain the process for you..

Using a piece of Strathmore Bristol Vellum paper sized 11x14 inches I used Colorburst powders in blue, purple, pink and some green.  I sprinkled them sparingly, trust me a little goes a long ways!.  I then took my fine mist spray bottle filled with water and began to spray the paper. The colors are so vibrant and you never know what you are going to get, once the whole paper was spritzed I then tilted the paper in various directions to get the colors to blend and run into each other.  I used a paper towel to soak up any colors that were pooling on the edges.  I set this panel aside to dry throughly over night and the following day there was a little warping so I ran it thru my laminator a few times and the heat quickly smoothed the paper back to flat. I then decided where I wanted each postcard to be on the paper and cut it apart. I was able to get 4 full postcards, A6 sized and lots of pretty scraps to use later out of the one sheet. I used my Tim Holtz stamping platform to stamp the Blank Postcard Stamp on the backside of each panel. I also used the snowflake splatter to stamp the bottom corner in an ombre ink using the same colors as the front of the card.  For the front I again used the Tim Holtz platform and arranged my Snowflakes in such a way that I could stamp/emboss then flip the panel over and repeat the process.  I used 4 different colors of embossing powder applying little sprinkles of each color then heat set.  For the sentiment I curved the sentiment on the platform to run thru the center of the front panel and this was stamped in dark purple ink.

SumMoreFun ~ Challenge #20

Good Morning Dreamerz,

Today is the start of Challenge #20 on the SumMoreFun Designs BlogThe Theme/Mood Board for this challenge is so pretty.  Here's my inspiration for you using: Four Layer Cake
Today's card features lots of embossing and fussy cutting. This was relatively easy to make and I was able to create a few cards but am only showcasing 2 of them here today for you

Card Recipe:
Starting with 4 different colors of card stock that fit the colors on the mood board I stamped and embossed the Four Layer Cake using gold embossing powder. Then I fussy cut the layers apart so that I could create cakes with different colored tiers.  Once I was happy with the placement I used foam adhesive dots to affix each tier to a die cut panel of black card stock that has a wood grain texture. The panel was then glued to a kraft colored die cut panel that I had previously glued to the front of a side folding piece of Neenah 110lb Solar Crest White card stock.  creamy colored sequins were then added to add a little dazzle~confetti look to the card

SumMoreFun Designs ~ Happy Birthday #3

Good Morning Dreamerz and Happy Wednesday!!

Today is my day to take over the SumMoreFun Designs Blog.

Here's my inspiration for you using:

Happy Birthday 2871
and
Backgrounds Set

Today I want to share a fast and easy Birthday card with you.  The whole month I will be doing Birthday cards.

Card Recipe:
Using a piece of Neenah 80lb white card stock I stamped the Background Set/Stick Splatter all over the paper using versamark to which I applied WOW Clear Gloss super fine embossing powder and heat set I then applied Distress ink In Peacock Feathers to the whole panel. I then used versamark to stamp the Happy Birthday and applied WOW Clear Gloss super fine embossing powder and heat set. Distress Ink was once again used in Wilted Violet.  That cute little bow was die cut using a piece of scrap card stock that I distress inked with Peacock Feathers lightly. I glued the bow to the bottom of the balloon die cut layer and affixed a heart enamel dot this gives a nice little touch of sparkle to the bow.  I added a layer of foam to the backside of the balloon layer and glued it to the top of the splatter panel.  Finally the whole thing was attached to a piece of Neenah 110lb card stock cut to A2 size side fold card.

SumMoreFun ~ Challenge #19 ~ Try Something New

Good Morning Dreamerz,

Today is the start of Challenge #19 on the SumMoreFun Designs BlogThe Theme/Mood Board for this challenge is: "Try Something New".  Here's my inspiration for you using:
Happy Birthday to make a Flap Card which I have always admired and never had tried myself.  This was relatively easy to make.  I say relatively because it took me 2 tries to get the die positioned just right until I was happy.

Card Recipe:
Using a top folding A2 sized of Neenah 110lb card stock I took a balloon edge die and die cut there I wanted the bottom of the balloon to be on the card. I then stamped the Happy Birthday using versamark and applied clear embossing powder and heat set the stamped image. Next I took a strip of post it tape and applied it to the top of the card to act as a mask. Using Distress ink in Wilted Violet I applied a heavy layer to the edges and top feathering the color lighter towards the center.  A bow from trendy twine and a strip of silver glitter washi tape were added for a lil extra dimension and sparkle.

Happy New Year!!! Today I want to share a fast and easy Birthday card with you.  The whole month I will be doing Birthday cards.

Next I stamped the big Happy Birthday in bright green ink from the same ink cube set and again with versamark to which I applied clear  WOW Clear Gloss super fine embossing powder. Added a few enamel dots using the Nuvo Sunlit Meadow as the glue, this gives a nice little touch of sparkle to the clear drop and affixed the panels to a die cut layer of green paper using the largest of the Scalloped edge dies, finally the whole thing was attached to a piece of Neenah 110lb card stock cut to A2 size.
