SumMoreFun ~ Challenge #27

Good Morning Dreamerz,

Today is the start of Challenge #27 on the SumMoreFun Designs BlogThe Theme/Mood Board for this challenge is so pretty.  Here's my inspiration for you using: Homegrown

Using the Homegrown set when I was making the masculine birthday cards I wanted to see if I could create a feminine birthday card.

~
Recipe:
I started with a piece of Neenah 110lb Solar Crest cardstock using my Tim Holtz stamping platform and lots of masking paper I die cut numerous sized Hexagons. I heavily inked the colors *See Colors used below* moving and placing the masks where I wanted and did not want color finally leaving the 3 white hexagons in the center. I positioned the Cows from the Homegrown stamp set in the platform and heavily inked the cows. The sentiment was printed from my computer and attached to a piece of black cardstock.  Next was assembly,  the layers were attached to a base of Neenah 110lb Solar Crest cardstock cut to a side folding A2 sized card.  The sentiment was attached using a strip of double sided foam tape on top of a nest of silver thread.  Lastly the card was finished off with some sequins affixed with Glossy Accents to add just a hint of sparkle.
*The colors of ink I used on this card are all from Memento and found in various 4packs and 12packs from SumMoreFun
London Fog
Angel Pink
Tuxedo Black

SumMoreFun ~ Ahoy!

Good Morning Dreamerz and Happy Wednesday!!

Today is my day to take over the SumMoreFun Designs Blog.

Here's my inspiration for you using the following stamps:

Ship at Sea Ahoy Lined Background

I am always trying to add to my card stash "Masculine" themed cards that I can pull and pretty much use for any occasion.  Today's card can be used for the following types of occasions.  Retirement, Birthday, Fathers day, Get Well, just to name a few.

Card Recipe:
I stamped the Lined Background using an acrylic block in a random pattern on a piece of Neenah 110lb cardstock using Versamark and then embossed with clear embossing powder.  Next I used Memento Dew Drops in Nautical Blue with a blending pad to give an ombre effect. Once I was happy with the blending I die cut with a stitched rectangle die and set it aside.  Then I stamped the Ship at Sea using my Tim Holtz stamp platform onto some Varsity Blue cardstock using a white pigment ink pad and applied clear embossing powder.  I then die cut the ship with a smaller stitched rectangle die and set it aside.  The last thing to stamp was the Ahoy which i stamped onto a piece of velum using the Nautical Blue ink pad (NOTE: my inkpad is super juicy and I used my heat gun held at a distance to speed up drying) I then tore the edges of the velum to add some interest to the layer.

With all the stamping and layers ready to go next up was assembly of the card. I affixed the blended background layer to an A2 sized side folding piece of Neenah Desert Storm 100lb cardstock. Next was attaching the piece of burlap which I removed threads from all sides to give the current appearance.  I then affixed the ship layer using a good layer of Tombow glue and placed a couple of acrylic blocks on top to really set the layer on top of the burlap. The Ahoy sentiment was attached using Tombow again behind the stamped letters and also where I knew I was going to be attaching the pearlescent embellishments.

SumMoreFun ~ Challenge #26

Good Morning Dreamerz,

Today is the start of Challenge #26 on the SumMoreFun Designs BlogThe Theme/Mood Board for this challenge is so pretty.  Here's my inspiration for you using: Homegrown

I seem to never have enough masculine birthday cards, yet I seem to have so many men in my life with birthdays and I am always rushing last minute to create something.  The set I used to create today's card actually made it easy to make a few of these in different colors to add to my stash and have on hand

~
Recipe:
I started with a piece of Neenah 110lb Solar Crest cardstock and The My Favorite Things Dienamics Blueprints # 27. I ran the cardstock with the upper window part of the set thru my BigKick to get the 3 small windows.  Then using my Tim Holtz stamping platform I positioned the Cows from the Homegrown stamp set in the platform and started by inking the cows with a *second generation stamp technique (See Below for link) using Memento Dew Drops in Rich Cocoa found in the Gotta Have 4 pack. For the grassy areas under each cow I used the same technique but using a small acrylic block. The ink colors were Memento Dew Drops Cottage Ivy and Bamboo Leaves from the Greenhouse 4 pack set.  The sentiment was printed from my computer and then die cut using the lower section of the blueprints window.  Next was assembly, all other papers are from my stash and the layers were attached to a base of Neenah 110lb Solar Crest cardstock cut to a top folding A2 sized card.  Lastly the card was finished off with some homemade enamel dots affixed with Stickles in the 2 colors shown to add just a hint of sparkle.

SumMoreFun ~ Hello

Good Morning Dreamerz and Happy Wednesday!!

Today is my day to take over the SumMoreFun Designs Blog.

Here's my inspiration for you using:

Cherry Blossom

Card Recipe:
I stamped the Cherry Blossom using my Tim Holtz stamp platform on a piece of Kraft cardstock using Memento Dew Drops in Rich Cocoa.  Then using my Prismacolor pencils I colored over the cherry blossoms and leaves. The hello sentiment is from my stash that I used Versamark and golden peach embossing powder.  I chose to die cut the panel with a dainty scalloped edged die.
I then affixed the layer to a piece of green cardstock. Once all layers were dry I attached the project to a top folding A2 sized card base made with Neenah 110lb cardstock.  To finish off my project I added a couple drops of Nuvo.
