SumMoreFun ~ Challenge #31

Good Morning Dreamerz,

Today is the start of Challenge #31 on the SumMoreFun Designs Blog. The Theme/Mood Board for this challenge is so pretty.  Here's my inspiration for you using: Cherry Blossom

Not going to lie this one I struggled with.  I just could not get anything from brain to paper how I wanted and admit to round filing (trashing) numerous attempts before I finally was happy with the card you see today. Today's project is using the color part of the mood board.

Card Recipe:
I stamped the Cherry Blossom stamps across the bottom diagonally using versamark and applied white embossing powder and heat set the images.  Next came the ink blending using Distress Inks in Walnut Stain, Peeled Paint, and Tumbled Glass as those are 3 of the colors from the mood board. I die cut the layer using DieNamics Mod Rectangle Stax and then using a smaller die from the same set I die cut through the blended layer and the card base layer which is a side folding piece of Neenah Desert Storm 100lb cardstock.  Now that I have a window I used 2 pieces of tulle to form the shaker and filled with some burgundy and silver sequins. A liberal layer of Tombow glue applied to the blended layer was used to apply to the front of the card.

SumMoreFun ~ Happy Birthday #2

Today is my day to take over the SumMoreFun Designs Blog.

Here's my inspiration for you using the following stamps:
Happy Birthday

For today's post I wanted to share another card using the truly versatile stamp with you. I am always needing gender neutral birthday cards and this stamp is really my go to for a big bold CAS design.  It can be stamped on pretty much any paper, Patterned, Vellum or plain and the results are always perfect.

Card Recipe:
I stamped the Happy Birthday on a piece of vellum then used a real pretty Blue embossing powder and heat set, then I die cut the layer. I then die cut a piece of watercolor that I had previously used as the flick sheet from making some swatches of new shimmer watercolors, my goal when making this was to use the watercolor that was left on my brush and create a confetti look to the paper.

With all the stamping and layers ready to go next up was assembly of the card. I used Tombow Extreme to affix the stamped and embossed Happy Birthday to the top of the watercolor paper.  The final assembly was to attach it to a piece of light grey cardstock and then to the top of a side folding piece of Neenah Desert Storm 100lb cardstock cut to A2 size, a few rhinestones to the corners of the vellum layer and this card was ready for me to mail off to the recipient.

SumMoreFun ~ Challenge #30

Today is the start of Challenge #30 on the SumMoreFun Designs Blog. The Theme/Mood Board for this challenge is so pretty.  Here's my inspiration for you using: Strokes of Pride

This was a super fast CAS (Clean And Simple) card to create.  I have a friend who's son is in the service and I plan on asking her for his mailing address so I can send it off to him. 

Card Recipe:
I started with a top folding piece of Neenah Desert Storm 100lb cardstock.  I stamped the stars in 3 different colors of ink across the front of the card, then I used the word Proud from the stamp set and stamped it in a copper shimmer ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. Lastly I applied 3 copper enamel dots to the front of the card.

Happy Birthday

For today's post I wanted to share a truly versatile stamp with you. Happy Birthday stamp.  This stamp is really my go to for a big bold CAS design.  It can be stamped on pretty much any paper, Patterned, Vellum or plain and the results are always perfect.

Card Recipe:
I stamped the Happy Birthday on a piece of vellum then used a real pretty Blue Steel metallic embossing powder and heat set, then I die cut the layer. I then die cut a distress ink smooshed piece of watercolor paper from my stash that I laid on top of some dark blue cardstock

With all the stamping and layers ready to go next up was assembly of the card. I used Tombow Extreme to affix the stamped and embossed Happy Birthday to the top of the watercolor paper.  The final assembly was to attach it to a top folding piece of Neenah Desert Storm 100lb cardstock cut to A2 size, a quick bow made from silver thread was attached using some glue and topped with a drop of Nuvo drops in Bottle Green.
