SumMoreFun ~ Challenge #25

Good Morning Dreamerz,

Today is the start of Challenge #25 on the SumMoreFun Designs BlogThe Theme/Mood Board for this challenge is so pretty.  Here's my inspiration for you using: Large Sunflower

I seem to never have enough Get Well cards lately, it seems as if everyone I know is being stricken with some cootie.  This sunflower makes the perfect cheery card for someone who is not feeling well.

~
Recipe:
I started with a piece of Neenah 110lb Solar Crest cardstock and my Tim Holtz stamping platform.  I positioned the Large Sunflower stamp in the platform and started by inking the leaves and stem in a pretty mossy green and using a Q-Tip I removed the ink from the areas I did not wish to be green.  I repeated this same stamp/ink procedure for the pal grey chalk ink and the rust ink. The Get Well sentiment is from another stamp line that SumMoreFun carries called Raisin Boat and the set is super cute it is called Oops a Daisy.  Lastly the card was finished off with some homemade enamel dots affixed with iridescent Nuvo drops.

SumMoreFun ~ Bunny With Egg

Good Morning Dreamerz and Happy Wednesday!!

Today is my day to take over the SumMoreFun Designs Blog.

Here's my inspiration for you using:

Bunny with Egg Mini Animals and Flowers & Backgrounds Set

Today I am sharing a cute Easter card that was super easy to make once I cut the mask for the bunny.  I am not much for fussy cutting but am finding I am doing quite a bit of masking on my cards lately.

Card Recipe:
I stamped the Bunny with Egg using my Tim Holtz stamp platform on a piece of Copic friendly cardstock and again on a piece of masking paper.  I then cut out the mask and applied it just to the lower half of the bunny.  Taking the one stamp from the Backgrounds set that looks like a small patch of grass I positioned it in my platform and stamped across the bottom of the card.  I did this a few times moving the panel and using different colors of green inks to achieve the look of grass.  I colored the bunny using various Copic markers until I was happy with how he looked.  Taking the Tulip stamp from Mini Animals and Flowers set I placed it on stamping platform and first inked the stem and leaves with a green ink and stamped the Egg and then inked it with a bright pink on the flower and finished off the Tulip.  The Happy Easter sentiment is from my stash and I used the same ink on it as I did the Tulip in the egg.  I chose to die cut the panel with a dainty scalloped edged die and used a larger die from the same set to die cut a layer of soft plaid paper from my stash.
I then affixed all the layers to a piece of yellow cardstock. Once all layers were dry I attached the project to a top folding A2 sized card base made with Neenah 110lb cardstock.  To finish off my project I added some homemade enamel dots that I affixed with pink stickles.  I chose the pink stickles so that just a hint of sparkle is visible on the card.

Sunday Funday ~ Boys like lizards right?

Happy Sunday Dreamerz!!

What?? I know right, I never (well rarely) blog on a Sunday.  Sunday's are usually time for family and relaxation.  But this card is super special and needed to be done today so it can go out in tomorrows mail.  I have recently been able to help a young boy named Jake get involved with GeoCaching.  It really is the best form of nearly free wholesome, family entertainment you can do.  there are so many benefits such as: spending time outside, learning your environment, learning to read maps and coordinates, getting some exercise, having fun either by yourself or with others.

Jake is so excited with GeoCaching he and his dad are quickly surpassing my numbers in finds.  To celebrate this and to encourage Jake along the way, I asked his dad if I could send him a GeoCoin to either place or keep.  The fun of  GeoCaching is to hunt for hidden clues and eventually find the "Cache"  What a more fitting card than one with a Chameleon hidden in a splash of green

Such a special coin deserved a special card

Card Recipe:

I took an A2 sized piece of Canson watercolor paper and liberally wet down the panel, next I sprinkled the Pthalo Green Color Burst and waited for the magic to happen. Full bloom of green with flecks of blues and yellows came to life.  I then used a straw and blew to spread the green hoping to achieve the effect of a grassy background, I think I nailed it!  I then stuck the panel between a few sheets of blotter paper and weighed it down to hinder curling and to speed the drying process.  Once dry I took the Chameleon stamp and used Hero Arts Emerald Green to stamp the chameleon. I took a brown felt pen and highlighted the branch.  Once I was happy with the image I applied Versamark and clear embossing powder, heat set the image and the resulting image really popped as the green deepened in color.  I trimmed the panel then attached it using Tombow Extreme to the front of a side folding A2 card base of Neenah Classic Crest 110lb.

~

I hope you enjoyed my post for today, and hopefully maybe you will want to try GeoCaching.  I am including a link to the GeoCaching site to get you started.  You will also find many groups on various platforms of social media such as Face Book, Instagram, old school message boards.

Have a great Sunday Dreamerz

SumMoreFun ~ Challenge #24

Good Morning Dreamerz,

Today is the start of Challenge #24 on the SumMoreFun Designs BlogThe Theme/Mood Board for this challenge is so pretty.  Here's my inspiration for you using: Stuffed Bunny
I am a huge Andy Warhol fan so when I saw this stamp in my design team happy mail I knew immediately what I wanted to create with it.  This challenge project reflects this.  I am calling this Pop Art Bunny.

Framed in Shadow Box
~
Recipe:
I started with a piece of watercolor paper cut to 5.5in x 5.5in and my Tim Holtz stamping platform.  I positioned the stamp in the platform in such a way that I would be able to just move the watercolor paper each time I wanted to stamp a new bunny. I stamped each bunny and then embossed with clear embossing powder. I took a pencil and lightly drew lines to section each bunny into it's own panel. I then set about adding the color to each bunny and panel using my Faber Castell Albrecht Durer watercolor pencils in colors that closely matched the ink colors that I used to stamp each bunny.  I die cut a simple rectangle using a piece of scrap Neenah 110lb card stock for my sentiment and used the ink colors from the bunnies to stamp the sentiment overlapping each color slightly.  To finish off the sentiment panel I stamped it one final time in the center with black Memento ink.  Next came assembly.  I cut down a piece of 12x12 black wood grain texture cardstock to the size needed to fit in the shadow box.  I then used 7/16in thick double sided adhesive foam on the back of the bunny layer and sentiment panel and affixed all layers to the top of the wood grain paper.

SumMoreFun ~ Cross of Flowers ~Prismacolor on black cardstock

Good Morning Dreamerz and Happy Wednesday!!

Today is my day to take over the SumMoreFun Designs Blog.

Here's my inspiration for you using:

Cross of Flowers

Today I want to share my take on a pencil colored image on black cardstock.

Card Recipe:
I stamped the Cross of Flowers using my Tim Holtz stamp platform on black cardstock from my stash using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  Then I proceeded to color in the stamped image with Prismacolor Premier pencils using bright lights on my craft desk so that I could see the ink stamped outline.  Once I was happy I set it aside and created the white top layer. I stamped the cross onto some scratch white cardstock and trimmed it to the very edges of the cross. Taking my previously diecut top layer I placed the cross that I had just trimmed on the back and traced it with a pencil once I had it positioned just where I wanted the opening to be.  I used my small steel ruler and an exacto knife on a self healing mat to cut the cross from the white cardstock.  I used tiny foam squares and affixed it to the top of the pencil colored image and then affixed the whole thing to a piece of yellow cardstock. Once all layers were dry I attached the project to a top folding A2 sized card base made with Neenah 110lb cardstock.

SumMoreFun ~ Challenge #23

Good Morning Dreamerz,

Today is the start of Challenge #23 on the SumMoreFun Designs BlogThe Theme/Mood Board for this challenge is so pretty.  Here's my inspiration for you using: Hopping Bunny and Some "Bunny" Special

Interior of card
~
Card Recipe:
I started with a piece of Neenah 110pd cardstock cut to 5.5in x 8.5in and my Tim Holtz stamping platform.  I positioned the stamp in the platform in such a way that I would be able to just move the cardstock layer each time I wanted to stamp a new bunny on the cardstock. Once I was happy with the amount of bunnies stamped I die cut the layer using a simple rectangle die. I also die cut a second layer with a rectangle die larger than the bunny layer and used the same color green ink I used for the bunnies and inked the edges heavily. Gold Stickles was applied to the one yellow bunny to add sparkle and to also tie in the sentiment I used for the interior of the card.  The green inked layer was attached to the front of the card using Tombow Multi glue and the bunny layer attached using double sided foam tape.
