It's a guy card!!!

Good Morning Dreamerz!

I am super excited to share today's card with you.  If you are a crafter/card maker do you struggle with making "Guy Cards"? I know I do, and I usually end up stamping a few gears and sprockets on some black card stock and calling it a day.  Well I got a new stamp and this is a game changer in the craft room.  The stamp is from Concord and 9th and is called Triangle Turnabout. I knew when I saw this stamp from all my favorite designers using it during sneak peek week I just had to have it. So after watching one of my favorite designers  Jennifer McGuire's video tutorial on how she uses this stamp I thought I can do this! and I did!! The result was perfect the first time, no lie this is going to quickly become my go to stamp for all kinds of projects but especially masculine cards.

Card Recipe:
Neenah Solar Crest cardstock
Vellum and Green card stock from my stash
Happy Birthday sentiment stamped with Unicorn White pigment ink from Hero Arts and heat embossed with clear embossing powder
Finally I attached the vellum layer to the green under layer in the corners with micro glue dots and added the green enamel dots from my stash to cover up the glue dots in the corners

Well that is it, pretty simple, super fast and easy to make and already off to it's new home for my uncle Gary's birthday in a few days.

I hope you all have a great day Dreamerz

Sunshine and Smiles for The Squirrel

Good Morning Dreamerz!!

It is a bright and sunny day here in Southern California.  All the flowers are in bloom and the weather is so nice, just perfect for spending time outside and with friends.
Today I want to share a card I made for "The Squirrel" aka Heather, my crafty BFF, sister from another Mr.. We usually try to see each other at least once per week, but with conflicting schedule and cooties we have been unable to do so. I sent this card off to the Squirrel just as a I miss ya kind of thinking about you card.  I hope you enjoy it and the card recipe is below.

Card Recipe:
Simon Says Stamp Spring Flowers and More Spring Flowers stamps and dies
I stamped the flowers using versamark then then used Clear, White, and Grey embossing powders to heat emboss the images.  I then used various colors of Distress Inks to each sheet of flowers to see what I was going to like best, once I was happy with the results I flicked the images with plain water and waited for the magic we all know and love to happen.  the end result was very subtle and what I think is very shabby chic. I then die cut all the images (see picture below).  Since I do not own a 3 panel die I used what I had to create 3 panels in a 4in x 5.25in piece of Neenah card stock. I used a stem and leaf set from the spring blooms and stamped them to each panel and colored in with copic marker and added a lil white accent to the stitch on the leaf with a UniBall Signo pen in white that the Squirrel gifted me.  Lastly I attached each blossom to the panels with a foam dot and then adhered everything to a folded card of Neenah card stock.  I added the sentiment after because I thought the card was missing something, the sentiment is from Altenew Oriental Orchid stamp set.  Base layer was die cut using Stitched Rectangle dies from Kat Scrappiness

Here is a picture of all the blossoms I made, I will have plenty for so many cards in the future

Well that is all for me today Dreamerz, I hope you enjoyed my card and have a great day.

What if I fall?

Good Morning Dreamerz,

Today I am sharing a card that I finished this weekend.
The Image is from Lizzy Love aka Oddball Art Co.  Why did it take a whole weekend to complete? and why do I feel so accomplished?
The card actually took longer than a weekend.  The feathers have layer upon layer of different colored watercolors in an effort to simulate the texture of feathers and give them depth, waiting for watercolors to dry is tedious! and I really dislike applying a heat tool to my paper.  The pictures really do not do this card justice! I have tried to capture the detail for you as best as I can, enjoy!!!

Close up detail of the feathers

Card Recipe:
Feather Digital Stamp from Lizzy Love aka Oddball Art Co. Uploaded to my design program and then center feather was flipped to face downward. Painted exclusively with Gansai Tambi Starry Watercolors and a #2 Silver Black Round brush. Die cut using a dies from KatScrappiness Stitched Rectangles. The base layer with sentiment was created in my design program. I flicked black Gansai Tambi watercolor on the feather layer and Red Gold from the Starry watercolor set on the base layer.

Thank you for stopping by to have a look.
Have a great day Dreamerz!!

Where the magic and chaos collide

Good Morning Dreamerz,

EDITED TO ADD: my blog has been acting up and this was supposed to go live yesterday but instead went into DRAFT Mode.

This is my DT post for the Cutting Cafe.  We were tasked with showing where we craft.  This is a picture showing my work area.  As you can see I am in the middle of cutting down cardstock to make the cards I like to show you here.  Also within reach is my Copic Markers, Zig watercolor, Prismas, Kuretake Watercolor, Faber Watercolors, adhesive, and so so much more.

I know most of you know I have a small addiction to coffee, do you see my vintage Starbucks Coffee Mug? There is almost always coffee on my crafting desk.  I have spilled many things like glitter, sequins, bottles of adhesive, dirty watercolor water, but I have somehow managed to never spill a drop of coffee, priorities right!!!

I do hope you pop over to The Cutting Cafe blog to see what my crafty sisters have posted up.

Have a Great Day Dreamerz!!!

Tickle you PINK

Good Morning Dreamerz

Today I want to share a really PINK card with you.  Like most of my crafty friends I have lots of product in my craft room that I have never used, who me? yes ME! So I have been on a mission to start using these stamps, dies, inks, supplies.  Today is one of those projects. full card recipe including a review and tips to follow picture.

Card Recipe
Card Base and foiled layer I used Neenah Solar Crest 80lb cut to 8.5 x 8.5, for the foiled layer I first used Distress Ink in Spun Sugar to give it a light blush of color. For the foiling I took the Pineapple stencil from Echo Park and taped it securely on top of the distress colored using painters tape. I then broke out my new jar of DecoFoil Transfer Gel and an old credit card I keep on hand for all sorts of uses in the craft room. I applied a generous layer of Transfer Gel then set about spreading it over the whole stencil going back and forth side to side to make sure I had all the nooks and crannies of the stencil filled in. Once I was happy I untaped the stencil and immediately took it to the kitchen to give it a good wash, the transfer gel cleaned up perfectly in warm water from the stencil and left no residue at all! I set the project aside to wait for it to dry which took a few hours because of the thickness. I fired up my laminator and picked a bright pink foil for the pineapples, ran it thru 2 times because not all areas picked up the foil the first time. Since I knew this was going to be a pretty thick card with layers I decided to instead of placing the solid pink layer on top I used a die and cut out from the foiled layer and then inserted my pink layer in securing it with double sided tape.  Now the pink layer looked plain so I broke out the pineapple stencil again and used the new Distress Oxide inks in Fossilized Amber and Cracked Pistachio using a sponge dauber to color in the pineapples. Now all my card needed was something for the pineapple emblazoned pink layer!! So I dug thru my stamps and dies and came across this set from My Favorite Things called Tickled Pink and the dies are called Flamingos, I had not used this set yet but loved the sentiments. The Flamingo was die cut using paper from my stash in 2 different shades of patterned pink paper and plain black card stock. The Sentiment was stamped on vellum using Stampin Up Blackberry Bliss which I then sandwiched between a sheet of plain copy paper and ran thru my still warm laminator to speed up the drying of the ink.  This is so much easier than using a heat gun which will definitely warp your velum.

Review: DecoFoil Transfer Gel is easy to use, cleans up beautifully with plain water, but takes a while to dry completely and you need to have a laminator to use it. Distress Oxide inks are quickly becoming my new favorite, I only own 5 colors because I could not commit to buying the whole set, but I will be buying the set a few pads/colors at a time.
TIPS: Keep old Credit Cards, Gift Cards on hand, these are perfect for spreading things like ModPodge, Transfer Gel, paint, you can also use them to scrape off cricut cutting mats, craft surfaces that have dried on bits on the surface, and they work great for helping to flick/remove a super tiny die cut that is stuck to your cutting plate.

Well that is my project in a very long nutshell today.  I am hoping to have my GoPro set up soon for video which will be a whole lot easier and much more fun for you all.

Have a Great Day Dreamerz!!!!

2 months of projects.

Good Morning Dreamers,
Today is Easter morning and as I sit in my craft room I am reflecting on how very blessed I am to be able to craft and create. Then it struck me how while I almost always (there is the famous Easter card incident of 2017) take pictures of all my creations I very rarely lately post anything except my Design Team projects to this blog.
So here you go Dreamers 2 months of most of my creations.. I do hope you enjoy them.

Well there you have it, just a sprinkling of some of the projects that should have had more attention but did not.

Have a Blessed day Dreamers..
